Case study video

Glenfiddich has been a family-owned business since 1887. But as the world's best selling single malt, people think it's just another faceless distillery in corporate hands.

On Father's Day, we saw the opportunity to change that perception.

Introduction Video

Finding an original photograph of the distillery's founding father standing proudly beside his son, we created a short film about the photo being restored to its former glory.

We launched a competition inviting Glenfiddich fans to share their own memories about their fathers and have their family photos professionally restored.

We found - and filmed - some amazing stories. Like Peter, whose grandfather stood up to the Nazis after their rise to power. And whose spirit lives on in him today.

Or this story about Britain's first black firefighter, who joined the service in 1955.

The result was a category-defining competition that changed perceptions of the brand, created some amazing content, and won us The Guardian / MAA Best Award for Opportunist Marketing 2015.
